A stunning set of arrangements that fuse the sound colours of early hapa-haole instrumentals with spirited jazz improvisation.  In this collection of Hawaiian guitar classic instrumentals, the Hotshots interlock the sound and style of the early generations of great steel guitar players: Andy Iona, Dick McIntire, Sol Hoopii, etc with a subtle layer of improvisation that honours the past but makes the melodies relevant in the present.

Hailed by connoisseurs of steel guitar around the world as a classic, Hawaiian Daze is one of the two 'must have' Hawaiian music albums. (The other is The Hawaiian Hotshots Strike Again!)

Testimonials:-

HIGHLY recommend the Hawaiian Hotshot CD's... Bruce Clarke is playing steel. If you like Dick McIntire and Andy Iona, you'll love these as well. I just got them both and have been listening to them non-stop for the past few days (in fact, Dick McIntire and Andy Iona have been put on hold, waiting in line to get a spot in my CD player). The Hawaiian Hotshots arrangements are great and the steel playing is superb!

"I found your 'Hawaiian Daze' most enjoyable.  I am looking forward to getting the rest of your productions."
Joe Brock - London, UK

I've just purchased Bruce's own "Hawaiian Daze" album.  Bruce is a great player who doesn't just blindly copy the source material.  Like all true artists he injects his own originality into the tune.  Do yourself a favour and get a Cumquat ot two.
Graham Griffith, N.S.W, Australia

The CD's arrived yesterday in good condition, many thanks. Thank you for the short sampler also. It gives us a good idea of the other choices and that's the kind of music I really like too. Your "Hawaiian Daze" album is really great! Your style has so much feeling to it. Thanks again for your quick responses and service. The quality of your CD's is really great. Until next time, Warm regards.

Bruce, Just wanted to let you know, I had a couple of friends visit this weekend, and they couldn’t stop listening to the Hawaiian Hotshots.  One of them was in Hawaii with me, (so he was familiar with Hawaiian music), but it was my other friend’s introduction to Island music. Each time we returned home from our bachelor adventures, they turned the stereo on to hear more Hawaiian Hotshots.

My favorite song is “An Orange Grove in California.” I love to hear acoustic steel; and it’s such a catchy tune.  I went back and listened to Sol Hoopii’s version and it can’t compare to yours! Mahalo and Take Care,

"The CDs are BLOODY MARVELLOUS, I’ll take the lot!"
Sid Downs, Steel guitar teacher and writer. Qld, Australia

Bruce, I've enjoyed all of the CDs. You play really well on Hawaiian Daze. Intonation is spot on! I know how long that takes to acquire.
