People who grew up on the sounds of Jimi Hendrix & Stevie Ray Vaughan, will no doubt ask: "Dick who?" But to earlier generations, Dick McIntire was the the Fritz Kreisler of the steel guitar. (Or was Fritz Kreisler the Dick McIntire of the violin?) In these releases of this great artist, you'll hear some of the finest, most sensitive steel guitar playing ever recorded. If ever a steel guitar player sounded like peaches and cream, Dick was the one! His touch, tone, and sense of time were truly something special. Considering that he recorded 100s of tracks, it's hard to understand why they're so hard to find. We're proud to present this collection which, in addition to his better known work, contains tracks difficult, if not impossible to find elsewhere!

"Superb! It's great to know that what little is left of the music from this period is being so well preserved for future generations."Wayne Shishido, Secretary, Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, Hawaii USA
"The audio quality on Cumquat's recordings of two of our steel guitar legends - Dick McIntire and Andy Iona - is phenomenal. I was absolutely blown away. Keep in mind that the original recordings date back almost 70 years. Not only have they eliminated the hiss and scratches that you would normally hear on vintage recordings, but the clarity of all levels of the sound spectrum have been enhanced. Jerry Byrd told me that it actually sounds better than when these recordings were first available in the '30s."Isaac 'Doc' Akuna - Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, Hawaii, USA
"I found the Dick McIntires most enjoyable and was very impressed with the quality of the restored tracks"Joe Brock - London, UK
"I have played your Dick McIntire CD and decided that it is one of the best CDs ever produced. I don't know how you can reproduce those songs without any hiss and scratch and distortion. You must have equipment that is superior to anything I have ever heard about."Dirk Vogel, Chairman, Aloha International Steel Guitar Club, Minnesota USA
