From 1942 until 1947, Hal Aloma was Lani McIntire’s preferred steel guitarist. He later formed his own performing and recording ensemble – often adding strings, brass or woodwind to the standard Hawaiian quartet format. It could be said that he kept these larger configurations alive long after Lani Mc Intire and Ray Kinney had abandoned them.

Let’s hear a fragment of his arrangement of “Kuu Ipo Ika Hee Pue One” (My Sweetheart Of The Sand Dunes).
