Throughout two decades working professionally in a variety of local and touring groups, the Australian steel guitarist Alf Barrie gathered around himself a hard core of fine players, bonded together by a deep-seated passion for Hawaiian music. In the late–'70s, they came together to record “A Lei Of Stars”:
