The second of our Dick McIntire limited editions with 20 more tracks from the great years of Hawaiian music played by a quartet of its finest practitioners. When Dick McIntire is at the helm and the Harmony Hawaiians set to blast off, you'll never hear it better or enjoy it more. McIntire's recorded legacy raised the bar so high that one would be hard-pressed to find players who have surpassed it. The subtlety of his expressive skills, his tonal beauty and uncanny time-sense in delaying or pushing certain notes, the exquisite backings he gave to an assortment of guest vocalists, his own finely honed vocal skills and brilliant arrangements can all be savoured on 'Trade Winds'. Several tracks are from broadcast transcriptions and this is their first commercial release.

"Superb! It's great to know that what little is left of the music from this period is being so well preserved for future generations."Wayne Shishido, Secretary, Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, Hawaii USA
"The audio quality on Cumquat's recordings of two of our steel guitar legends - Dick McIntire and Andy Iona - is phenomenal. I was absolutely blown away. Keep in mind that the original recordings date back almost 70 years. Not only have they eliminated the hiss and scratches that you would normally hear on vintage recordings, but the clarity of all levels of the sound spectrum have been enhanced. Jerry Byrd told me that it actually sounds better than when these recordings were first available in the '30s."Isaac 'Doc' Akuna - Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association, Hawaii, USA
"I found the Dick McIntires most enjoyable and was very impressed with the quality of the restored tracks"Joe Brock - London, UK
"I have played your Dick McIntire CD and decided that it is one of the best CDs ever produced. I don't know how you can reproduce those songs without any hiss and scratch and distortion. You must have equipment that is superior to anything I have ever heard about."Dirk Vogel, Chairman, Aloha International Steel Guitar Club, Minnesota USA
