Songs Of Old Hawaii continues Cumquat's survey of the musical legacy of Andy Iona with eight of his best-known commercial successes plus ten more tracks never made available to the record-buying public! When one listens to our previous three volumes along with this present set of Andy Iona, it's possible to gain a well-balanced overview of both the quality and the enormous quantity of 'The Islanders' performances. The glory of these musicians, recording four tracks of this quality in each three-hour call (direct to disc using only one or two microphones), is further demonstrated when one considers that recording artists of today, assisted by state-of-the-art technology, can take months to complete just one track!

I've been enjoying the four Cumquat Andy Iona CD's... You did an outstanding job restoring the original recordings to better-than-new quality. I can finally can hear all the instruments clearly. Your restoration work will assure that this classic Hawaiian music will never fade away.Gerald Ross, Board of Directors, Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association
I will add my .02 to the sentiments above. BUY THESE WONDERFUL RECORDINGS! I've learned soooooooo much about that style of music and that era. Great, fun stuff that deserves the revival I believe will come because of these fabulous restorations. Saving up my pennies to get more!Todd Weger, FL USA
I just got the latest Restoration from Bruce Clarke..... Andy Iona "Songs of Old Hawaii" This 18 song CD contains 10 previously unreleased tracks .... It is every bit as "Clean and Pristine" as his other works of ART ... He says he is workin' on Dick McIntire Vol 5 and a SOL HOOPII Radio Transcription ... Can't wait for those !!!
