Sound Clip From: "Anitra's Dance"

Cyril Stevens was a pioneer of Australian microgroove recording.  His 'Spotlight Varieties' label, with its distinctive artwork adorning the jackets of his 10 inch LPs, helped to establish the careers of many successful artists.  This compilation is drawn from a number of Cyril's recordings and features two of Bruce Clarke's small groups, vocalist Geoff Brooke, The McDuff Williams Orchestra (with master drummer Billy Hyde) and a brilliant performance of "Rhapsody In Blue" by the great Isador Goodman.  A collection of rare Jazz tracks including a sprinkling of delightful adaptations of folk songs.  A very engaging little swing treatment of Anitra's dance from the Peer Gynt Suite of Edvard Grieg is featured in the sound clip.
