Throughout the 50's, The Bruce Clarke Trio was everywhere; their regular jazz radio show, supporting stars on records and supplying the heartbeat for the many radio orchestras and variety shows.  'The Eddy Oxley Quintet', 'Jimmy Allen's Cooltones', 'The Charlie Blott Allstars' and dozens of others were simply 'The BC3 plus Friends'.  This present set, drawn from their eight year association with the ABC, focusses mainly on vehicles for improvisation. Gerry Mulligan, John Lewis, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, John Coltrane and Russ Freeman are among the composers represented.  'Bernie's Tune' and 'Blue Train' were recorded in 1965 and showcase Rosenberg and Clarke backed by John Fredericks - bass, and Stan Harris - drums.
