After 25 years as a leading TV arranger, composer, producer and instrumentalist, Geoff Kitchen returned to playing jazz full-time. Towards the end of the 1970s (when TV music departments were winding down), he formed this remarkable quartet. In the quartet's two year life-span, during which it performed every Friday (and Saturday) night at Melbourne's popular 'Potter's Cottage' restaurant, he wrote some 400 charts, each one showcasing his personalised sound in a variety of settings with guitar, bass & drums. This album features ten of Geoff's arrangements, interpretations of standards & original compositions performed by the Quartet. Check the lovely interplay of sax and guitar in the sound clip.
