To 'those-in-the-know' Joe Mooney was one of the greatest unsung musical talents of the last century -- everything he touched, instrumentally or vocally, turned to gold! Mooney's brilliant 1946-7 quartet (Cumquat CQCD-2733), his vocal contributions to the magnificent Sauter Finegan Orchestra, his arrangements for the Paul Whiteman and Russ Morgan Orchestras, his collaboration with the guitarist Mundell Lowe are all fine examples.

Joe's beginnings however, these duets with his brother Dan, backed by a line-up of soon-to-be acknowledged jazz stars have been 'out of print' for seventy-five years.
