In Waikiki focuses upon the five star vocalists that Decca teamed up with Dick's crew between 1935 and 1944. Commencing in '35 Ray Kinney and The Harmony Hawaiians recorded some seventy classic tracks. In 1936 Bing Crosby donned a lei. Their 1937-38 sessions with "Hawaii's Songbird" Lena Machado are unlikely to ever be eclipsed. Frances Langford, a real swinger, recorded eight glorious tracks with McIntire. Dorothy Lamour brings a slightly more homely quality to her eight performances.

Those who are familiar with, or have copies of, the original Langford and Lamour 78s, will be impressed with the new brilliance of Dick's guitar. Cumquat's restorations bring new life to these performances.
